Empire Divorce Drama
Terrence Howard claims his ex-wife threatened to expose personal information that could have ruined his career when he signed a support agreement in 2012. Howard claims the information includes a video tape his ex-wife recorded in which he’s having phone sex with another woman. This and other salty details about the actor and his second wife came out in a Los Angeles court hearing where Howard is trying to overturn the divorce settlement in his second marriage to ex-wife Michelle Ghent.
Howard says he’s paying $5,800 a month and it’s too much. He says the support agreement was signed under duress.
Even though he’s reportedly set to make $125,000 an episode for season 2 of the FOX hit Empire, Ghent doesn’t have a right to that money since it came after the divorce and isn’t considered community property.
Reality Check
Life seems to imitate art – or in this case reality – for the husband of a former Real Housewives star. Cops in New Jersey were called to a fight at a party where reality TV regular Joe Guidice was in a heated argument with his neighbor. Cops did not make any arrests but this could have been more major legal trouble for Guidice who is a convicted felon waiting to serve 41 months in Federal prison for fraud.
Nothing will infuriate a judge more than someone being arrested for a new crime while they’re waiting to go to prison for a previous crime. You’re supposed to be on your best behavior.
Guidice is out taking care of his daughters while his wife serves her federal prison sentence. As soon as she’s done her time, Joe heads to prison to serve his.
