Cosby’s accusers revealed & Final Arguments in the Movie Theater Massacre Trial
Any hope Bill Cosby had for keeping the remaining details of a sex assault lawsuit secret took a big hit when two women who were witnesses held a news conference.
Last week, it was revealed in deposition excerpts obtained by The Associated Press that Cosby admitted under oath in 2005 to obtaining Quaaludes he intended to give to women with whom he wanted to have sex.
Lawyers for Cosby have been trying to keep the rest of the lawsuit sealed.
It’s clear to me that these two women known only as “Jane Doe” in the lawsuit do not care about maintaining confidentiality and by supporting the motion to release information from the suit, they take the wind out of any argument that this deposition needs to remain under seal.
We are on jury watch in the Aurora, Colorado movie theater massacre.
Starting Wednesday morning, jurors will begin deliberating about whether James Holmes is guilty of killing 12 people and trying to wound 70 more. And, when they are finished, the jurors will fill out a stack of forms measuring more than an inch thick to record the verdict finally deciding whether the movie theater shooting was an act of murder or madness.
If the jury finds Holmes guilty of one of the 24 counts of murder with which he is charged — among the 165 counts upon which the jurors will deliberate — the case will proceed to a death penalty sentencing phase. If they find him not guilty — whether by reason of insanity or otherwise — the case ends there.
The defense has presented evidence of Holmes acting in very bizarre ways in the aftermath of the shooting and in his jail cell. But remember the legal test for insanity is not whether he acted crazy but whether he understood right from wrong.
