We are heading into week two of reading A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom: A Toltec The Four Agreements Wisdom Book by don Miguel Ruiz. I hope by now you are turning pages and asking yourself good questions as you go along.
To be clear, I didn’t choose the book because I intend to preach self-help to you. I chose The Four Agreements because–in my experience–to look at stories with a critical eye and see cases objectively you must first have your side of the street clean.
If you can’t own your emotions then you’re likely to misfire them. In other words, if you bring unacknowledged anger or pain to the table, it can be difficult to parse out justice from self-projection of guilt, fear and fury.
The Four Agreements is a basis for delving into human nature. The quote I pulled last week comes from Chapter 2: “The First Agreement Be Impeccable with Your Word.”
“Impeccability means ‘without sin.’ …A sin is anything that you do which goes against yourself.” –don Miguel Ruiz The Four Agreements. In a world full of temptation and Deadly Sins, don Miguel Ruiz’s first agreement is vital: “be impeccable with your word.”
I asked you to consider this question: Are you impeccable? Here is my tweet with the quote from don Miguel Ruiz’s The Four Agreements and some of your responses:
@DarrenKavinoky not impeccable. . . I Work! ' )
