September is National Recovery Month. This is a cause that is close to my heart. I know first-hand the destruction of addiction.
I will be sharing my experience in San Jose, California at the Many Paths One Destination Event. It’s a fun, informational, and educational event on October 1st, which may be one day late but just in time to help someone get help.

8th Successful Year for Many Paths One Destination Event in San Jose
A fun, informational celebration and educational event for all seeking information about recovery from addictions. Everyone is welcome.
San Jose, California – October 1st marks the 8th year for the very successful Many Paths One Destination Recovery Event to be in San Jose. Over the past 8 years Many Paths One Destination has been host to over 3500 people fighting such things as alcohol and drug addiction, eating disorders gambling and other addictions that affect us all.
During that time MPOD has had such notable presenters as Father Tom Weston, Author Karen Casey, Actor Danny Trejo, Academy Award Winner Paul Williams, humorist Diane Conway, TV Personality and author Kristina Wandzilak, Roland F. Williams, MA, Licensed Advanced Addiction Counselor (LAADC), Internationally Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor (ICAADC), author and local therapist Mary Crocker Cook, Superior Court Judge Stephen Manley, and Comedian Mark Lundholm present their side to the addiction problem.
“By celebrating our common goal of freedom from addiction, we hope to cultivate a greater appreciation, friendship, and communication among 12 step programs and recovery efforts, and increase public awareness and understanding of addiction and recovery.”
Many Paths One Destination provides tables free for any organization, group, or person wishing to display their part in recovery. Typically the 12 Step programs set up displays but we have also had suicide prevention and eating disorder participants as well as recovery centers and related professionals.
There is also a $5 spaghetti lunch provided at the event.
Taking place right around National Recovery Month, the Many Paths One Destination event is open and FREE to the public. This year’s exciting lineup includes Darren Kavinoky, TV Show creator and Host, Certified Interventionist, and Criminal Defense Attorney, Shelley McAlpine, MA, LAADC, ICADC Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Published Author, Roland Williams, MA, NCACII, CADCII, ACRPS, SAP, Highly credentialed interventionist, Renowned Author, and Motivational Speaker, Kyczy Hawk, Teacher of Recovery-focused Yoga and published Author, and Desiree Jackson, Banking Executive and Business Owner, dedicated to recovery-based service.
Many Paths One Destination is a local 501C3 nonprofit and is supported by such notable businesses as the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, Voices United of San Jose, WG Fritz Construction, The Camp Recovery Center, Support Systems Homes, ME Fox and Company, FMG Corporation, SAMHSA, Voices United, Star Fellowship, The Indian Health Center of Santa Clara County and many others.
The event will take place all day on October 1st at Lincoln Glen Church, 2700 Booksin Avenue, San Jose 95125. Come on out for a fun filled day filled with education, fellowship and hope.
